About Us

Millville Development Corporation (MDC) is a nonprofit corporation established in 1994 by Millville City Commission. In June 2015 the MDC was separated from the City and is an independent nonprofit organization. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors with a minimum of 7 and maximum of 13 trustees representing business or residents of the community.

Main Street Millville

In September 2004 Millville was approved as a "designated Main Street community" by Main Street New Jersey through the NJ Department of Community Affairs.  It is also recognized as a part of the national program through the National Historic Trust for Preservation.  Main Street Millville follows the "Four Point Approach" to revitalization and has received several benefits through this program such as architectural assistance, retail and design assistance and technical assistance which is exemplified via this new website.  Millville's Main Street and MDC Executive Director is a "Certified Main Street Manager" since 2009 after two years of study with the National Trust.

Vision

Historic downtown Millville will be a vibrant, safe, riverfront arts district serving as an inviting social, economic and cultural destination.  The Downtown will continue to be a friendly specialty retail and residential district which values the participation of volunteers in generating pride in Millville and promoting the Glasstown Arts District as the physical and functional heart of our community.  Public/private investment in galleries, retail shops, restaurants, professional offices and recreational amenities will ensure a progressive, long-term commitment to success and an enhance d quality of life in our community.  (Adopted 2004).
